Arcadian

Arcadia was a Greek word developed as a poetic byword for an idyllic vision of unspoiled wilderness. In that respect there is something about the effect of Long Exposure photography in particular that lends itself to this reference. A vision of a perfect world, an environment that isn't entirely real yet exists through the physical passage of time. An emotional and visual conundrum.

With this collection I tried to build a series of photographs which depicted that Arcadian view of the world, a place void of interruption and visual noise, just simple beauty, form, pattern and tone, the minimal aspects of a reality. There is nothing fake about this imagery, it's all real enough, yet I hope it transcends reality and transports the viewer to a place where imagination starts to take over and visual references become less complicated.
