Following on from my five page Wild Wood feature in Amateur Photographer last week (4th October edition) it was great to get a further invite from the editor to contribute and play a small part in the special 130th Anniversary Issue with a nice corner on Chesterton Windmill in Warwickshire.

My photograph¬†August Outlook¬†has previously been used by the BBC but it was selected this month by Amateur Photographer Magazine (11th October edition) as one of the 130 Top Photo Locations for the UK. I’m currently working on another feature request from the magazine so more might follow again soon…

In truth Chesterton Windmill has always been a bit of a nemesis because it’s one of those locations that is for lazy somewhat one-dimensional landscape photography that’s all too easy to fall back on. Having said that, the surrounding area is very beautiful and the natural rise and fall of the land, as well as the character trees are really what make it for me – it’s a great location for practising true minimalism. Here’s one from another day:
